Once a problem is identified, you are notified through the dashboard to enable you to quickly drill down and see the relevant log files to assist with rapid identification and resolution of the problem. At a glance, you can see the status, time and date of the last successful ShadowProtect backups across your entire organisation or monitored systems.


Single Pane-of-Glass View

Instantly, you can see the status of all StorageCraft ShadowProtect servers being monitored. If a problem occurs, the server with the problem notifies Command Central (the centralised monitoring console) and changes the status of the affected server from green to orange (problem) or red (critical problem) causing it jump to the front of the queue, helping to ensure that if a problem develops, it is identified as quickly as possible.

Disk usage and Image Repository Status

Quickly view the status of disk usage, including all of your image repositories where your backups are saved, to ensure that you have adequate disk space available for your servers and backups.


Reporting

Core to any data protection strategy and solution is the ability to know what has been backed up and if any problems have occurred – or even worse, if a backup has failed.

Daily Status Report: In order to ease the burden of administrators, WatchDog Software automatically generates a daily status report of all servers / desktops and laptops being protected by StorageCraft ShadowProtect and monitored by WatchDog Software.

1. Backup image name & incremental backup number
2. Time and date of last backup
3. How long it took to backup the entire volume
4. Sectors changed – almost always 0% as so few sectors change – hence StorageCraft’s performance over file based backup products
5. How long it took to snapshot the volume
6. How large was the sector based backup
